Explore the Historic Sights of Rotterdam!

Whether Rotterdam is your point of origin, final destination or just a stop along your cargo’s journey, Troy Container Line has you covered! While you explore the historic sights of the city, our team will chart your cargo’s course to and from Rotterdam.

Rotterdam, also know as the Gateway to Europe, sits on the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt Delta. As the largest port in Europe, and the second largest in the world, Rotterdam is a key power player in maritime transportation. Rich in culture and architectural design, Rotterdam offers residents modern living with a rich history. For example, around the year 1740, a series of windmills were built in the Dutch village of Kinderdijk to drain a polder (a low-lying tract of land enclosed by embankments). Located about 8 miles southeast of Rotterdam, windmills in the village of Kinderdijk still stand today. The 19 iconic Kinderdijk windmills, all of which were declared historic monuments by UNESCO in 1997, are just one of the many sites to see in Rotterdam.

With comprehensive FCL and LCL services to and from the Netherlands to the United States, shipping your cargo with Troy Container Line is a breeze.
