Sit back, relax and take a tour of Germany!
Rich in history, Germany encompasses 16 states and 80.3 million inhabitants, making it the most populous country in the European Union. A major economic and political power, Germany ranks the third-largest importer and second-largest exporter in the world and offers a vast array of cultural destinations.
When our team visits Germany we love to see the sights and emerge ourselves in the culture of the country. Listed below you will find some of our favorite places to visit when we are in Germany:
- The largest Japanese garden in Europe can be found within Planten un Blomen Park, a leafy oasis in the heart of Hamburg, Germany. This park offers residents and visitors alike access to tranquil fountains, lawns, floral displays, hothouses, botanical gardens, a traditional rose garden and an apothecary house.
- The world’s most narrow street can be found in the town of Reutlingen, Germany. Measured at just 12.2 inches at its most narrow point and 19.7 inches at its widest, Spreuerhofstrasse street is a tight squeeze!
- Hamburg is home to the Maritime Circle Line, a harbor shuttle service catering to mariners. This shuttle service connects Hamburg’s maritime cultural attractions, including the Auswanderermuseum BallinStadt, Hafenmuseum and Miniatur-Wunderland.
- Teirpark Hagenbeck Zoo in the Stellingen district of Hamburg Germany was founded in 1907. Featuring open enclosures surrounded by moats rather than cages, this zoo was the first of its kind in that it allows visitors to see the animals in a more natural environment.
