Customer Advisory June 17, 2016
After many months of meeting with clients, warehouses and attending industry meetings, we have determined the best way to handle the VGM rules effective on July 1st is to have all cargo weighed at the loading container freight station as it arrives. Since the VGM applies to all loaded containers it is the responsibility of Troy Container Line to submit accurate information to the carrier once the container is packed. Therefore, effective for all freight that will be loaded to a vessel on or after July 1st, cargo will be weighed at the load port and submitted to the carrier. We do ask as always that all your documents be submitted with correct weight on the bill of lading and inland trucking bill of lading. We believe by providing this service we will enable all cargo to be loaded to the intended vessels without delay and fully compliant.
LCL VGM Processing Fee: $7 per BL
For FCL cargo Troy Container Line will charge a VGM processing fee of USD 15 per bill of lading if the customer provides the VGM. In the event the client requests Troy to obtain the VGM, there will be a charge of USD 25 per bill of lading plus all charges for weight tickets, drayage, driver waiting time, re-delivery and other charges that are incurred out of pocket will be billed to the client along with the VGM processing fee.
We would like to thank you for your continued support and will keep you updated on any further updates
