New Jersey Emergency Fee & Free Time Update Effective January 1st 2023 the Emergency Fee in New Jersey of $75.00 per House Bill of Lading will be eliminated. Although STG continues to experience congestion in this market due to shifting west to east volume and difficult port schedules to recover containers, we are not in the same situation that caused this fee to be implemented.
In addition to the elimination of the Emergency Fee January 1st 2023, STG will extend the free time on imports into New Jersey back to 4 business days which is similar to the rest of their network.
